I got to meet up with Daniel Silverman today, who is part of the Digital Intermediate team over at Technicolor New York. He was able to give me a tour of the facilities. Although it was sad (and exciting) to see an abandoned floor of printed dailies screening rooms and photochemical color graders, it was really amazing to see what their SAN rooms and edit bays can do. It’s nice to see so many people still shooting on film.

Afterwards I stopped by Abel Cine and drooled over the HPX3000. Kind of lame how it doesn’t do variable speeds, but man is the picture sharp.
